Join this supportive network of successful, ambitious female orthodontists and together we’ll help lift one another up, share stories and strategies for growing your practice, and build the friendships, life, and business of your dreams.
Because behind every successful woman is a tribe of women who have her back.
Here’s a fact:
As of 2017, females represented 50 percent of orthodontists under the age of 35.
Women are poised to grow as leaders now and in the future of orthodontics.
Yet… women are still under-represented, under-supported, and underestimated in the field.
WIO is on a mission to change that, and the WIO Conference was created with that in mind.
When you attend this conference, you become part of a growing network of smart, supportive, successful women in orthodontics. You’ll bond with your female peers from all around the world, hear from new, inspiring speakers, and get a fresh perspective on what will give you a true edge in growing your practice in 2022 (and beyond).

It’s even more lonely when most of the existing groups for support and advice are rife with members who simply don’t understand the unique challenges of being a female orthodontist.
Your dream?
To grow your practice to a place where you can work a few days per week, stop doing administrative work outside your office hours, grow your annual revenue, open additional offices, and still maintain the high level of attention and care that you pride yourself on providing to your patients.
You simply want a profitable practice that doesn’t eat up all of your free time.
(Because taking a vacation where you’re not constantly checking your phone would be nice.)
And in order to have that, you know you’re going to need:
❏ A highly invested team that is motivated to work harder during the day
❏ A steady flow of new, ideal patients showing up for consultations
❏ A happy roster of current patients who are referring others your way
But it’s not always easy to juggle all the pieces, like…
● Training and managing your staff to be effective and successful
● Learning and implementing marketing strategies that actually work
● Managing your own time between office hours and administrative tasks
● Racking up all the CE credits you need each year
● Hiring (and even worse, firing) team members
They don’t teach this stuff in orthodontic residency!
It’s all so much. And it seems (often) like there’s no one around who truly “gets it.”
Well, we’re on a mission to ease all the overwhelm and loneliness and give you real solutions, real community, and real friends who know what you’re going through.
The WIO Conference was created to help you look at your practice with fresh eyes, make lifelong friends who really get it, and walk away with ideas, advice, and inspiration.

ABOUT
The First (And Only) Official Conference for Women in Orthodontics®
We created WIO to provide a place where Women in Orthodontics can receive support from their peers who truly “get it.”
Because it’s great to work towards being on an “equal professional playing field” to men but the truth is -- we, as women, are different. And the support we need to grow our practices and provide excellent care to our patients is also different.
This conference all began as a small online community. Since 2016, The Women in Orthodontics® Study Group has developed into an incredible community with over 3,000 members (and growing). After we gathered together for the first time in 2018, we all agreed that we needed more time to meet! So, we created the WIO Annual Conference to feature female doctors speaking about the business, clinical, and personal issues orthodontists face from a woman’s perspective!
Finally, a conference just for us.
There is something special about being with a group of like-minded, smart women.
– Dr. Amani Mora
The Women in Orthodontics Conference is unique because we are surrounded by women and speakers we may not have heard before but have a story to share.
– Dr. Lindsay Don
It’s a great place for camaraderie and building each other up.
– Dr. Christine Ferrell
The speakers all have unique perspectives and they are not speaking at every other conference. Every single detail has been paid attention to. It’s incredible. From the hotel you stay at to the food they serve.
– Dr. Lisa Babb

Supportive, Uplifting, Inspirational Environment
WIO was created by Dr. Courtney Dunn, an orthodontist in Phoenix, AZ, who recognized both the unique challenges and needs that female orthodontists face -- as well as the lack of representation in the greater orthodontic community. After successfully growing her practice to four offices during a recession (when over 100 dentists in Phoenix area went out of business), she has seen firsthand how specific management and marketing strategies can help create more time and still help orthodontists grow. We combine strategic, practical guidance with a supportive, nurturing community to help you create a profitable practice that doesn’t eat up all of your free time.
